Unexpected projects

The first unexpected project was one of those things that happens on a farm.  We had stray dogs get into our chicken pen and kill more than half of our meat chickens. We decided to process the remaining 35 chickens immediately. Although it was a sad thing to lose so many chickens to the dogs, we were glad to save 35 and processing is always a fun time!

Awaiting their turn

Jed and John working.

Samuel manning the plucker

Claire and Ben did the "final inspection" before bagging and freezing the chickens

The second project was taping and mudding the drywall in the new house:

This week our friend, Micah, who is doing most of the drywall finishing is coming back to apply texture. We will then paint and do the flooring!

  1. An unfortunate turn of events, but it looks like the boys were up to the challenge!
